Chandramouleshwara Temple - Located at Unkal, this beautiful temple is famous for Historical Western
Chalukya period, Chandramouleshwara Shiva temple and Unkal lake.
Unkal Lake - A pictorial water spot with a magnificent sunset view, with a green garden, recreational
facilities for the children, boating facilities, etc.
Nrupatunga Hill - Located on the North-Eastern fringe of Hubballi offering a pleasing panoramic view
Siddharoodha Matt - Located at near outskirts of Hubballi is an eminent religious institution, a centre of
Advaita philosophy as preached by Swami Siddharoodha.

Water  Bennihalla (Krishna basin), Bedthi and Shalmala are major rivers  The region is highly dependent on rainwater, irrigation facilities, tank and reservoirs  Ground water is another Source.  The net irrigated area is 90.4 % to the net area sown  92% of cultivable area under rain fed  Per capita production of water through surface sources is 191 MLD and through underground sources 13 MLD  Total Water Supply 86.3 MLD  Per Capita Water Supply 135 LPCD Power  Transmission in the district is being done by Hubballi Electricity Supply Company Limited (HESCOM)  Dharwad Bioenergy Private Limited has set up 10 MW Biomass Power Project at Dharwad  In wind power segment, projects have been proposed at Hanumanamatti and Kappatagudda  The total supply capacity to the district is 335 MVA. Unkal Lake - A pictorial water spot with a magnificent sunset view, with a green garden, recreational facilities for the children, boating facilities, etc. Nrupatunga Hill - Located on the North-Eastern fringe of Hubballi offering a pleasing panoramic view Siddharoodha Matt - Located at near outskirts of Hubballi is an eminent religious institution, a centre of Advaita philosophy as preached by Swami Siddharoodha. Potential Industries Engineering & Automobile: • Presence of Engineering items, Industrial Valves, Electrical goods and agricultural implements, machine tools industries, electrical, steel furniture, food products. • 14% of total SSI units in the district (largest in the district) belongs to this sector .Presence of major players like Apex Auto India Ltd., makes this sector very vibrant in this district. Agriculture & Food Processing: • Presence of many subsidiary agricultural industries such as spice processing, pickles, cotton ginning & pressing gives a thrust to this sector • District has the second highest number of SSI units in this sector • Presence of 3 agro-climatic zones, high end research based agriculture universities & testing labs, presence of high number of women SHGs Electronics and Information Technology: • Special Concession is given for Electronics, Telecom and Informatics (Software) industries to be set up in the Dharwad & also eligibility for 100% sales tax exemption (KST & CST) on output for a period of 6 years • Presence of major players like Telcon makes this sector very vibrant in this district. Fisheries: • Availability of tanks and reservoirs makes the region quite suitable for inland fishing, especially in the ornamental fish segment. Sericulture: • With 40% of the soil suitable for infrastructure coupled with availability of basic infrastructure like cocoon market, reeling units, sericulture training institute, etc. the region has a potential for sericulture industry Animal Husbandry: • Conducive climatic conditions & presence of KMF is a major boost to animal and dairy product sector in this region.
