The increased demand for safe food, as a result of globalization and international trade, led to the
development of a wide range of standards in different countries. The sheer number of standards – as well

ISO 22000 provides a way to systematically ensure safety and control in all links of the food chain.

Course Objectives
Through lectures, discussions, workshops and role plays, you’ll be able:
To describe the fundamental purpose of a FSMS as well as the principles, processes and
techniques used for the assessment and management of food safety hazards, including the
significance of these for FSMS auditors.
To explain the purpose, content and interrelationship of the following management system
standards: ISO 22000:2005; the ISO 9000:2000 series; guidance documents; industry practice,
standard operating procedures and the legislative framework relevant to a FSMS.
To explain the role of an auditor/lead auditor to plan, conduct, report and follow up a FSMS audit
in accordance with ISO 19011.
To interpret the requirements of ISO 22000:2005 in the context of an audit of the organization's
FSMS.
To plan, undertake and report an audit of a FSMS in accordance with ISO 19011.
To have undergone training recognized by the International Register of Certificated Auditors
(IRCA) for persons wishing to become FSMS auditors.

Lead Auditor, Lead Trainer & Verifier for auditors & trainers; & a report reviewer for ISO 9000, ISO
22000 and HACCP.
She is a Lead Auditor for QMS, FSMS, SQMS (Supplier Quality Management System), DQMP
(Distribution Quality Management Program for McDonald), SA 8000 and auditor for EMS &
OHSMS. She is an approved auditor for Woolworth’s retail chain, Mc Donald and Nestle KAM for
Amul, Nestle and Mc Donald’s. She has also handled ISO 22000 accreditation & NABCB
accreditation for FSMS.
She possesses the experience of 14 years & was previously working with SAI Global Limited
(Standards Australia) as Product Head for Food Services. Prior to that she worked with BSI India
Pvt. Ltd. (British Standards), ICL, SGS India Pvt. Ltd., French Foods Pvt. Ltd. (C.P. Unit of
Britannia) & Pepsi Foods Ltd..
Certificate
IRCA certificate of successful completion of the course will be issued to those participants who will
satisfactorily complete the continuous assessment and written examination. However, participants who do
not qualify will be also given certificate of attendance.
