Unethical behavior by a small number of individuals has given metal detecting a bad name and put it under the pressure of laws and bans. Give metal detecting a good name by acting ethically and preserve this hobby for future generations.
  3. 3. #1 - I will follow all laws relating to metal detecting on federal and state lands as well as any laws pertaining to local areas I may be searching. Do Your Research… Know the laws for your area… Don’t make assumptions…
  4. 4. #2 - I will respect private property and attain the owners permission before metal detecting. Never Trespass… Always obtain permission…
  5. 5. #3 - I will recover targets in a way that will not damage or kill vegetation and I will fill in holes completely leaving the area looking as it was. Do everything in your ability to leave the land in the same or better condition than you found it…
