  1. 1. The Health and Safety at work etc Act 1974 duty to ensure, so far as is reasonable & practicablethe health, safety & welfare at work of all employees
  2. 2. Management of Health & Safety at Work Regs 1992Require employers to make suitable &sufficient assessments of risks to theH&S of employees & others who maybe affected by their activities
  3. 3. Manual HandlingOperations Regulations 1992 where there is a Risk of injury toemployees, manual handling should be avoided
  4. 4. Health and Safety (Display ScreenEquipment) Regulations 1992employer has a responsibility to analyse workstations to assess the risks they present
  5. 5. Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 1994 (COSHH) hazardous substances at work … employers are responsible for assessingthe risks to health of employees & others, from exposure to such substances
  6. 6. Noise at Work Regulations 1989where noise is above certain stipulated levels employers must ensure thatexposure is assessed by a competent person
  7. 7. Personal Protective Equipment at work Regulations 1992 employers & the self employed have aduty to provide PPE, assess its suitabilityprior to selection, keep assessments valid & up to date and provide information, instruction and training
