SYNOPSISES(logline)A family asks a young psychiatrist to betheir guest for a while and help lookafter their father who’s developed asuicidal fixation for ropes and knotsamong other things. It is also entirelypossible that the mental health of theguest that is the real cause for concern.(medium)An ordinary funeral procession movesalong its path from church to cemetery.Observing, you slip from reality into aplace where time has lost its linearity, looping through the odd images thrownoff by a distorted reality. Images ofnon-existence, of varying reflections ofdeath issuing from both past and future, concrete yet abstract, horrible yetdesirable.A family asks a young psychiatrist to betheir guest for a while to untangle thecircumstances of their father’s illness. He’s developed a suicidal fixation forropes and knots among other things. Whiledeeply involved in analyzing the patient’sdelirium, the doctor begins to lose trackof what is taking place. The task of“how to help” is twisted into “who am I?Doctor or patient? Chance guest, memberof this suffering family, or a catholicpriest who has dreamed this all up?” Inorder to get a handle on it all, it’s bestto start from the beginning, but why dothings keep shifting, changing…?
(long)A forest near the coast. A pension…or is it aprivate villa? A guest…or is he a psychiatrist? Is he here to relax…or to treat the sick?A villa. A psychiatrist…or a patient with anappointment from a colleague for an examination?Or is it his wife who’s brought him here, hopingto prevent a suicide? Or a murder? A clearconspiracy. And each with his role. Consciousnessarranges endless combinations of possibilities oftime, space, people, and events. It is imperativeto get to the bottom of what is happening. Or ofwhat seems to be happening.Someone is in the yard. In the forest. At thevilla, or is it a pension? Something is happening. In reality or is it a hallucination? In order toknow, one must start again at the beginning, orperhaps at the end? Yet starting again providesfew answers. Utter complication and confusion.Hopelessly lost among the possibilities forinterpretation. Perhaps it’s best to just move on?A villa. A family. A mother and daughter. A son.Or is he a son-in-law? Or a priest? He’s thereoften enough. She may not like it, but she keepsquiet about it. It’s difficult to speak with thatscar on her face. Such a regrettable case, whathappened to the maid. But she won’t talk about it.Not a word. Never. With that scar on her face. The face of a daughter, perhapsA guest. Or a psychiatrist? He’s found a pensionfor his vacation. Or was he called out for aconsult? He resists at first, but he did recommendthis, perhaps even insisted. He was forced toaccept. It’s pointless. The patient is dead. Oris it his son? The pension, no matter how it mightlook on the outside, is just perfect for a nicerest. The coast, on the outskirts. A villa. Or is it apension? A large, two storey house with an attic, some broken windows, like on a set, props in aplay. It looks like no one is home and nothing ishappening.
