SEHEMU A:
1. Soma habari ifuatayo kasha ujibu maswali yatakayofuata. (Read the following passage then
answer questions there after).
Tuvae Mavazi ya Heshima
Sisi wanadamu hatuendi uchi kama wanyama. Sisi havuaa nguo, viatu, kofia, vilemba na mapambo
menginyo kama kila mmoja wetu apendavyo. Mavazi yana muhimu mkubwa katika maisha yetu,
kwanza, mavazi hutusaidia kujikinga dhidi ya baridi au joto. Pili, mavazi hutufanya kuonekana
maridadi na tatu, mavazi hutusaidia kuficha sehemu nyingi za siri kwenye miili yetu.
Lakini na siku hizi, vijana wengi hasa wasichana huvaa mavazi ambayo si ya heshima. Wasichana
wengi siku hizi utawakuta wakiva mavazi ambayo pamoja na kuwabana sana, ni mafupi sana na hata
yanaweza kuonyesha sehemu zao za siri za juu ya magoti. Badhi ya wasichana huvaa nguo ambazo
zinawezesha macho kupenyeza ndani yake na kuangalia mavazi ya ndani kama vile chupi au sidiria.
Hata hivyo, wasichana wengine huvaa nguo ambazo zinaacha sehemu za migongo yao wazi kabisa.
Mavazi kama haya ambayo yanoanyesha muambile wazi wazi pamoja na sehemu za siri si ya
heshima kulingana na utamaduni wa kiafrika. Jambo la kushangazani kwamba baadhi ya wanawake
nao huvaa vivyo hivyo. Unamkuta mke wa bwana Fulani amevaa rinda ambalo pamoja na kumbana
ni fupi sana. Hata akiwa anatembea, mapaja yanaokana wazi wazi huku matako yaliyobanwa na
rinda hilo yakibenukabenuka na kuonyesha pindo za chupi aliyovalia ndani ya riunda.

Kulitokea kisa kimoja kanisani cha kuaibisha sana. Msichana mmoja alikwenda kuhudhuria ibada ya
Jumapili huku amevaa rinda fupi sana na lenye kumbana barabara. Mschana huyo ambaye alikuwa
mwnafunzi katika shule Fulani ya upili baada ya ibada kuanza na kwa hiyo yeye akakaa kwenye viti
vya nyuma.
Ibada hiyo ilikuwa maalum kwa sababu waliohudhuria waliombwa kushiriki katika ile sakramenti ya
kukumbuka kufa kwa Bwana Yesu Kristo. Na kwa hiyo iliwabidi waumi kwenda polepole kwenye
altare na kupiga magoti mbele ya kasisi, waliokalia viti mbele ndio waliotangulia wakafuatiwa na
wake wa viti vya katikati na mwishowe wale wa viti vya nyuma.
Zama ya mschana huyo ilipofika, yeye bila aibu yoyote akasimama na kwenda mbele kwenye altare
ili apate ile sakramenti takatifu. Mschana huyo alipokuwa akipata katikati akielekea kwenye altare,
waumini wote walishangaa sana kwa vile alivyokuwa amevaa nguo ya aibu hadharani. Rinda
lilikuwa fupi sana kiasi kwamba mapaja ya mschana huyo yalikuwa yanaoneka wazi kabisa. Isitoshe
hiyo, rinda lake mschana huyo lilikuwa linambana sana hata alikuwa na matatizo kwa kutembea.
Alikuwa akitembea mfano wa mfungwa au mwendawazimu aliyefungwa kwa pingu muguuni.
Haya basi, mschana akafika kwenye altare akajaribu kupiga magoti lakini akapata taabu.
Akajaribujaribu na mwishowe akafualu kupiga magoti lakini kwa shida sana.
Lakini alipokuwa akingoja ili Kasisi aje ampe kipande cha mkate pamoja na Mvinyo kama ilivyo
kawaida ya sakramenti hiyo, waumini nyuma yake wakaanza kupiga makelele wakinung’unika.
Wengine wakasema, “Hapana, asipewe mkate na mvinyo! Hastahili hivyo, yeye amekosa adabu.”
Hata wanawake nao wakasema, “Hapan! Mavazi haya ya kisasa sasa yamevuka mpaka na kugeuka
kitu kingine. Mbona yeye ameaibisha jamii ya wanawake.”
Watoto ambao wao hawakujua ni aibu gani mschana, walikuwa wanacheka tu kwa kuwa
wanachungilia chupi ya mschana huyo wakati alipokuwa akapiga magoti.je, aibu gani iliyotokea,
mpaka waumini wakapata kunung’unika hivyo? Ndugu yangu, maajabu kweli yalitokea Mschana
Yule alipopiga magoti, rinda lake likaenda juu zaidi na kuacha matako yake wazi asipokuwa chupi
aliyoivalia ndani. Ikawa aibu kubwa na mwanaume mmoja akisimama akamwendea Yule mschana
akamkamata mkono akamvuta nje. Msichana alikuwa bado hajapewa mkate na mvinyo. Kisa hicho
kweli kiliiharibu ibada hiyo takatifu.

SEHEMU A: 1. Soma habari ifuatayo kasha ujibu maswali yatakayofuata. (Read the following passage then answer questions there after). Tuvae Mavazi ya Heshima Sisi wanadamu hatuendi uchi kama wanyama. Sisi havuaa nguo, viatu, kofia, vilemba na mapambo menginyo kama kila mmoja wetu apendavyo. Mavazi yana muhimu mkubwa katika maisha yetu, kwanza, mavazi hutusaidia kujikinga dhidi ya baridi au joto. Pili, mavazi hutufanya kuonekana maridadi na tatu, mavazi hutusaidia kuficha sehemu nyingi za siri kwenye miili yetu. Lakini na siku hizi, vijana wengi hasa wasichana huvaa mavazi ambayo si ya heshima. Wasichana wengi siku hizi utawakuta wakiva mavazi ambayo pamoja na kuwabana sana, ni mafupi sana na hata yanaweza kuonyesha sehemu zao za siri za juu ya magoti. Badhi ya wasichana huvaa nguo ambazo zinawezesha macho kupenyeza ndani yake na kuangalia mavazi ya ndani kama vile chupi au sidiria. Hata hivyo, wasichana wengine huvaa nguo ambazo zinaacha sehemu za migongo yao wazi kabisa. Mavazi kama haya ambayo yanoanyesha muambile wazi wazi pamoja na sehemu za siri si ya heshima kulingana na utamaduni wa kiafrika. Jambo la kushangazani kwamba baadhi ya wanawake nao huvaa vivyo hivyo. Unamkuta mke wa bwana Fulani amevaa rinda ambalo pamoja na kumbana ni fupi sana. Mschana huyo ambaye alikuwa mwnafunzi katika shule Fulani ya upili baada ya ibada kuanza na kwa hiyo yeye akakaa kwenye viti vya nyuma. Ibada hiyo ilikuwa maalum kwa sababu waliohudhuria waliombwa kushiriki katika ile sakramenti ya kukumbuka kufa kwa Bwana Yesu Kristo. Na kwa hiyo iliwabidi waumi kwenda polepole kwenye altare na kupiga magoti mbele ya kasisi, waliokalia viti mbele ndio waliotangulia wakafuatiwa na wake wa viti vya katikati na mwishowe wale wa viti vya nyuma. Zama ya mschana huyo ilipofika, yeye bila aibu yoyote akasimama na kwenda mbele kwenye altare ili apate ile sakramenti takatifu. Mschana huyo alipokuwa akipata katikati akielekea kwenye altare, waumini wote walishangaa sana kwa vile alivyokuwa amevaa nguo ya aibu hadharani. Rinda lilikuwa fupi sana kiasi kwamba mapaja ya mschana huyo yalikuwa yanaoneka wazi kabisa. Isitoshe hiyo, rinda lake mschana huyo lilikuwa linambana sana hata alikuwa na matatizo kwa kutembea. Alikuwa akitembea mfano wa mfungwa au mwendawazimu aliyefungwa kwa pingu muguuni. Haya basi, mschana akafika kwenye altare akajaribu kupiga magoti lakini akapata taabu. Akajaribujaribu na mwishowe akafualu kupiga magoti lakini kwa shida sana. Lakini alipokuwa akingoja ili Kasisi aje ampe kipande cha mkate pamoja na Mvinyo kama ilivyo kawaida ya sakramenti hiyo, waumini nyuma yake wakaanza kupiga makelele wakinung’unika. Wengine wakasema, “Hapana, asipewe mkate na mvinyo! Hastahili hivyo, yeye amekosa adabu.” Hata wanawake nao wakasema, “Hapan! Mavazi haya ya kisasa sasa yamevuka mpaka na kugeuka kitu kingine. Mbona yeye ameaibisha jamii ya wanawake.” Watoto ambao wao hawakujua ni aibu gani mschana, walikuwa wanacheka tu kwa kuwa wanachungilia chupi ya mschana huyo wakati alipokuwa akapiga magoti.je, aibu gani iliyotokea, mpaka waumini wakapata kunung’unika hivyo? Ndugu yangu, maajabu kweli yalitokea Mschana Yule alipopiga magoti, rinda lake likaenda juu zaidi na kuacha matako yake wazi asipokuwa chupi aliyoivalia ndani. Ikawa aibu kubwa na mwanaume mmoja akisimama akamwendea Yule mschana akamkamata mkono akamvuta nje. Msichana alikuwa bado hajapewa mkate na mvinyo. Kisa hicho kweli kiliiharibu ibada hiyo takatifu.
