• Brand Leader reports are designed to measure the pulse of brand leadership in specific product
categories using results from independent, non-sponsored surveys with at least 200 respondents.
• The Flash Brand Leader Survey was conducted in 2019.
– Respondents were solicited from over 1,000,000 members of 100+ online IT groups, and from the IT Brand
Pulse database of 150,000 IT professionals.
– Responses were collected using an online survey engine.
• In each part, respondents were provided with a product category description, randomly-listed vendor
choices (plus an “Other” answer choice to add a vendor, if applicable), and were asked six questions:
1. Who do you perceive as the <product category> market leader?
2. Who do you perceive as the <product category> price leader?
3. Who do you perceive as the <product category> performance leader?
4. Who do you perceive as the <product category> reliability leader?
5. Who do you perceive as the <product category> innovation leader?
6. Who do you perceive as the <product category> service & support leader?

• NVDIMM: DIMM packages with some type of non-volatile memory on-board
• Computational Storage: Compute moved to processing inside flash storage systems for applications like
pattern matching, indexing, and searching
• All Flash SAN Array: All-flash arrays for block storage with FC and/or iSCSI interfaces
• All Flash NAS Array: All-flash arrays for file storage with Ethernet interfaces
• All Flash NVMe-oF Array: All-flash arrays for block or file storage with NVMe over FC, NVMe over RoCE or
NVMe over TCP interfaces
• Hybrid HDD/SSD Array: SAN and/or NAS arrays supporting HDDs and SSDs
• All Flash Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI): HCI systems configured with all-flash storage

• Samsung Repeats as Market Leader for SSD, Selected for First Time as Market Leader for Computational Storage
– Samsung has reigned as the undisputed brand leader for enterprise SSDs, selected as market leader in every annual IT
brand leader survey conducted. The company introduced SmartSSD computational storage in late 2018 and IT pros
responded in 2019 by selecting Samsung as the market leader.
• Dell Technologies Companies Voted Market Leader for All-Flash SAN Array, All-Flash NAS Array, Hybrid
HDD/SSD Array, All-Flash HCI, & Hybrid Cloud All-Flash Storage-as-a-Service
– IT pros voted for Dell EMC and VMware, or for the combination of Dell EMC and VMware, as the market leader in 5
storage product categories. VMware is powering storage brand leadership for Dell Technologies in HCI and Hybrid Cloud
STaaS.
• IT Pros Vote Choose IBM as Market Leader for All-Flash NVMe-oF Arrays and Multi-Cloud Storage-as-a-Service
– IBM has invested heavily in marketing NMVe storage fabrics and multi-cloud data services. IT pros rewarded the
company with their votes for IBM as market leader for All-Flash NVMe-oF arrays and for Multi-Cloud STaaS.
• HPE GreenLake Selected as Market Leader for On-Prem Storage-as-a-Service
– HPE boldly announced their entire portfolio will be available as-a-service by 2022. Their massive marketing thrust did not
go un-noticed as IT pros selected HPE as the market leader for on-prem STaaS.
• AWS Voted Market, Price, Performance, Reliability, Service & Support, and Innovation Leader for Public Cloud
Storage-as-a-Service
– The company that started the cloud revolution with the world’s first public cloud storage-as-a-service offering, is
dominating global revenue market share, as well as voting from IT pros for brand leadership.
• Intel Optane Repeats as Brand Leader for NVDIMM
– IT pros once again voted for Intel Optane memory in every category of brand leadership for NVDIMM products.
