HOW 2.0 USE WORDLE WITH YOUR STUDENTS <ul><li>Turn a text or poem into a word poster. </li></ul><ul><li>Show the word cloud for the reading text and let your students guess what the text is about. </li></ul><ul><li>Do brainstorming with your students, then copy the results to the wordle. </li></ul><ul><li>Compare and contrast the word clouds of your students ' essays. </li></ul><ul><li>Ask your students embed their word clouds into your class wiki. </li></ul><ul><li>http://www.wordle.net </li></ul>

HOW 2.0 USE WORDSIFT WITH YOUR STUDENTS- 1 <ul><li>Copy the reading text you are planning to use with your students and ask them if they can guess what the text is about. </li></ul><ul><li>Let your students identify the academic words in the cloud, then click AWL option, and check their answers. </li></ul><ul><li>Use Visual Thesaurus to discuss the related words with your students. </li></ul><ul><li>Ask your students click “create workspace” and write an essay by dragging the words from the word cloud. </li></ul><ul><li>After they have clicked “create workspace”, you can create matching activities by making images draggable. </li></ul>
  7. 8. HOW 2.0 USE WORDSIFT WITH YOUR STUDENTS- 2 <ul><li>Have your students sift the text instead of skimming it </li></ul><ul><li>Divide your students into groups of three. Click on the unfamiliar words to show the images related to those words, and ask them to guess their meanings. </li></ul><ul><li>Use wordsift to identify the key vocabulary. </li></ul><ul><li>Let your students watch the videos on the wordsift website and ask them write a summary. </li></ul><ul><li>Show your students “Examples from Source” part and ask them rewrite the sentences. </li></ul>
  8. 10. WORSIFT: OFFLINE ACTIVITIES <ul><li>Ask your students paste their essays to wordsift, print them out and bring them to classroom. </li></ul><ul><li>Download the video on the wordsift website onto your desktop. </li></ul>
