This year’s focus will be reducing surgical site infections (SSIs); expert faculty members from various institutions will present the latest challenges and emerging trends from each practice area. A recent survey by 3M shows health care facilities face challenges with teamwork, collaboration and compliance with infection prevention regulations. This year’s summit involves a new goal: to outline a set of Principles of Collaboration that can be used across teams for education and strategic planning around reducing and eliminating SSIs. The Principles of Collaboration white paper will be released upon completion, tentatively scheduled for early November 2011.
