The vast majority of NewsMatch participants raised more money, attracted more new donors, and received more donations in 2018 than they did in 2017. ● $7.6 million raised, including $3.1 million in individual donations ● Average year-end donor gave $138 ● 52,000 new donors gave to news organizations From the external evaluation: ● 93% of participating orgs said NewsMatch enabled them to raise more money ● 91% said NewsMatch equipped them to do more and better fundraising ● 76% said NewsMatch helped raise awareness around nonprofit news Great results for newsrooms...

  14. 14. ● Calendar ○ Apply by Aug. 1 (INN membership deadline: Jul. 1) ○ “Quiet” phase in September and October ○ Open Match phase: Nov. 1 to Dec. 31 ● Matching Fund + New Member Bonus ○ All participants are eligible for a 1:1 match ○ New recurring donations matched at full-year value ● Goal-Based Bonuses ○ Bonuses for small- and medium-sized participants who retain and grow their individual donor base ● Gifts from Businesses and Family Foundations ○ Individuals have multiple ways to give and earn a match What you need to know:
