Seeding new ideas in agriculture: nudging
the knowledge and behaviour of Kenyan
youth at scale
Well Told Story regularly reaches 5m young Kenyans with
their Emmy Award winning Shujaaz FM multi-media channel,
addressing mindset and norms alongside specific innovations in
agriculture, health, governance and the economy.
Rob Burnet will describe Shujaaz FM’s interactive project design,
its hybrid commercial-cum-development sector change theory, and
the multiple approaches his team is using to track and measure its
impacts, sharing examples from the work Shujaaz FM has done in
support of Kenya’s agriculture and livestock sectors.

Rob Burnet is director of Well Told
Story, a social communications design
and production company based in
Kenya, that combines comic books,
syndicated radio, SMS, social media,
web, video, animation, research,
strategy and science to help change
the way people live, think, act and
govern in East Africa.
Before founding Well Told Story in
2009 he worked on large-scale public
interest TV, he was a programme
officer for the Ford Foundation in
Eastern Africa and he set up the
Kenyan visual arts studios, Kuona
Trust.
