- Today we present a new comprehensive assessment of the global livestock sector I will give a brief overview of the background and process that have resulted in this unique publication
- Livestock systems are very diverse. Among the biggest contrasts are between developed and developing country sectors, but even within these there is also considerable variation. Dramatic contrasts exist in the livestock sector in relation to social/livelihood issues, health and the environment, and in the trade offs between these dimensions.
