Fattening of Sheep

• - Live weight gain/day : 175 – 280 g
• -Fattening period : < 100 days
• - FCR : > 5/kg feed/kg L.Wt. gain
Cattle Fattening
• - Initial Live weight = >200 kg
• - Fattening period = 60 -70 days
• - Dry matter intake = 3% of L.Wt.
• - Daily L.Wt. gain = 1 kg
• - FCR = > 5 kg DMI/kg L.Wt gain.

• 1. Establishment of Vocational Training Centers for producers in the
States of high Livestock population e.g. Western, eastern and Central
Sudan States.
• 2. Extension services for livestock producer to promote use of agro-
industrial by-products e.g. Sugar industry.
• 3. Improvement of slaughter houses to match the best standards for
export.
