This study investigates the prevalence of aflatoxin B1 in maize and zoonotic diseases, specifically Japanese encephalitis and leptospirosis in pigs, across six provinces in Vietnam. A total of 2,370 maize samples revealed that 33.71% exceeded 5 μg/kg of aflatoxin B1, while blood samples from pigs showed sero-prevalences of 8.17% for leptospirosis and 3.98% for Japanese encephalitis. This study represents the first large-scale analysis in Vietnam, highlighting the presence of foodborne and zoonotic risks in the region.
