Intended to enable consistent annotation of research products

Reusability of CGIAR digital assets
CGcore v1 is not closely related to existing metadata schemas
Lack of exact mapping to generic and widely- adopted metadata
schemas and lack of clear guidelines on how to use them were
hindering required level of interoperability within and
beyond the CGIAR
