quality short links. Scheduling became a challengin
g task in these Multihop Relay Wireless Cellular
Networks of IEEE 802.16j standard. H. Chen, X. Xie
and H. Wu proposed a Qaware Scheduling
Algorithm in which backpressure flow control mecha
nism is used to reflect current Q size of the Relay
s
and considered high backpressure links to include
in Concurrent Transmission Scenarios, to maximize t
he
throughput. This focus on high backpressure links,
leads to starvation of Mobile Stations having low
back
pressure links, resulting unfairness in some cases.
To remedy this situation, a Fair Link Inclusion (F
LI)
mechanism is applied in Greedy Algorithm of Qaware
Scheduling Algorithm. Simulation results show that
Modified Qaware Scheduling Algorithm with FLI mech
anism has reasonable improvement in fairness and
maintaining steady throughput when compared with ex
isting algorithms.
