  6. 6. X07 EXTREME - ACRYLIC-URETHANE STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE 8 SPRINT COMPOSITES | TECHNICAL CATALOGUE Description A Urethane-acrylate thixotropic structural adhesive. Excellent structural adhesive properties on FRP (Fibre Reinforced Polymers) and metal substrates, such as steel, aluminum and its light alloys. Main Features - remarkable elasticity - elevated mechanical properties - low linear shrinkage - very high chemical/ physical resistances Certification X07 Extreme obtained the RINA (Registro Italiano Navale e Aeronautico) certificate as structural adhesive: Certificate N° DIP147011CS released on 2011-08-09. POLIFIBRE STRUCTURAL VE VINYLESTER FLEX PUTTY P40 9 Description Structural adhesive based on special vinylester resin, with excellent mechanical properties, like flexibility and adhesion power. Suitable for adhesion with FRP, metals (steel, aluminum, light allows). Main Features - white colour - easy to sand - very good chemical resistance Recommended uses Recommended for FRP (Fibre Reinforced Polymers) structures and metals, such as steel, aluminum and light alloys. It is used in sectors like marine, railways, truck industry, etc. Thanks to its capacity of deformation, it favours the structural adjustment, counteracting delamination/cracking problems in the bonding points. Properties P40 has high bond strength, excellent flexibility, high mechanical properties (see table), low linear shrinkage, good chemical and physical resistance. It can be used for: - filling of edges and curves of medium-small radius Hardeners P05 is a two-component bonder which must be accurately mixed with the specific C08 liquid hardener (Cyclohexanone peroxide). Catalysis ratio P05 should be mixed with a percentage of hardener that takes into account the ambient temperature, never less than 5°C, in which the process is carried out. CATALYSIS AND TEMPERATURE C08 LIQUID HARDENER between 5 and 10° C 3,0% between 10 and 20° C 2,0% over 20° C 1,0% Properties When the product is applied, it will assume mechanical properties that depend on the type of hardener used and the temperature at which the process has been carried out. It is excellent when used for: - Production of FRP items. - Filling edges and small medium radius Hardeners P30 is two-component and must be mixed thoroughly with liquid or paste hardener. Catalysis ratio P30 must be mixed with a percentage of hardener taking the current room temperature where it will be used into account. Never work at temperature below 5°C. It can be used in processes such as: - Positioning bulkheads when the interiors are assembled - Gluing match-moulds, walls and ceilings - Stoppering the hull and parts in fibreglass-reinforced plastic Hardeners P50 is a two-component reinforced putty which must be accurately mixed with the specific C10 paste hardener (Dibenzoyl peroxide). Catalysis ratio P50 should be mixed with a percentage of hardener that takes into account the ambient temperature, never less than 5°C, in which the process is carried out. POLYESTER PUTTY WITH FIBRES FILLING PUTTY FOR LEVELLING P71 21 Recommended uses It is a putty formulated for filling / levelling and repairing fibreglass and metal surfaces which are not submerged, where higher than the normal thicknesses provided by common putties are required. The optimum balance of its features allows the repair of wide surfaces, for thicknesses up to 4mm. After sanding, the levelled application of autobody / nautical putty is recommended before successive jobs. Hardeners It is a two-component putty and must be mixed thoroughly with the specific liquid hardener methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP). Catalysis ratio Mix with a percentage of hardener between 1 – 3% taking into account the current room temperature where it will be used. Never work at temperatures below 5°C. P73 POLIERRE VIRACOLOR SOFT SOFT FILLING MULTIPURPOSE PUTTY 22 SPRINT COMPOSITES | TECHNICAL CATALOGUE Recommended uses P73 is ideal for the assembly of fibreglass items for the adhesion of various materials, and for small fillings. Hardeners P73 is a two-component filler bonder and must be accurately mixed with the specific hardener paste C10 (benzoyl peroxide) or liquid hardener C08 (cyclohexanone peroxide), or liquid MEKP 50%. Catalysis ratio P73 bonder must be mixed with a percentage of hardener taking the current room temperature where it will be used into account. Never work at temperatures below 5°C. Due to its mordanting characteristics, LPM compound can be used for: - polishing handiworks - polishing moulds and plugs Polishing process - make sure that the gelcoat is cold before polishing - remove impurities such as dirt or grease from the gelcoat with a cloth soaked in soap and water - place a small quantity of paste on a wool or foam polishing pad - spread the paste evenly over the surface, with the polisher still off - switch on the polisher and adjust the speed to between 800 and 1,500 rpm - start polishing by exercising a light pressure, then progressively reduce it until the paste begins to dry - make several crossed runs in order to remove all the scratches. Do not polish in the same area for very long or the surface will become overheated This process will achieve a finish high level of gloss which can be improved if required by a successive treatment with polishing compound.
