This ICF International white paper examines why mobile is working as a solution for spreading information about HIV/AIDS and what else we should be doing. Mobile has merged the digital and physical environments like no other technology before it.
This white paper asks what have we done over the past few years that has brought us to this point, ahead of where we thought we would be. What can we share with the HIV/AIDS community to improve their efforts in outreach, education, and prevention? Three things stand out as we consider what we have done and what is working for mobile and AIDS.gov:
1. We have optimized for mobile, for access anytime, anywhere, on any device.
2. Mobile devices are personal devices. HIV/AIDS is a sensitive and personal health issue.
3. Emotion matters, especially with regard to personal health topics.
