Connect: Enables connectivity and data collection from a myriad of devices, sensors and equipment Predict: Provides early warning for operational issues, impending failure breakage, Time to failure and probable cause, Expected remaining life for components, Process variation resulting in product defects Repair: Mines maintenance logs, equipment manuals, technician unstructured data to assist with diagnostics via an interactive dialog to make repair recommendations with the highest probability of success including parts and tooling Optimize: Using cognitive insights, constantly evaluate its current operating performance looking for alternate settings or operations to improve throughput, quality and availability Watson IoT Equipment Advisor
  4. 4. 4 Watson IoT Equipment AdvisorWatson IoT Equipment Advisor Connect Predict Repair Optimize Connect: Every machine on the floor, every well in a field, streaming information into the Watson IOT platform. Every manual, procedure, work card, incident report, read, interpreted, broken down and available whenever needed Predict: The advisor is looking at thousands of bits of information to find the specific indicators that precede a failure. In addition, each note, log, and work order placed into the system is scanned for clues and fed into the predictive model. Repair: Each page of each manual is read and indexed, along with any information that would relate it to a particular machine, or procedure. Videos are transcripted, and third party information is indexed and made available as well. Every bit of information available is used. Optimize: Each conversation, each repair, work order, etc. is read back into the system after completion. Incremental adjustments are made automatically. Periodically, the system is scanned for inefficiencies. Patterns are identified that show where improvement can be made, and the system is improved. In the on site demo, attendees experienced:
