Understanding the Prophetic Pt. 5The Book of Zechariah:“Zechariah means "Jehovah remembers" and it is the most apocalyptic andmessianic book of all the minor prophet books.”“Zechariah was written for a small remnant of Jews who returned to Judah torebuild the temple and their nations.”“Chapter 1 details a call to return to the Lord given by Zechariah.”Verse 7-17“Myrtle trees withstand drought and remain green after being cut. Horsessymbolize God’s involvement in world government. Red symbolizes bloodatonement (Revelation 6:4), Brown symbolizes something dying (1 Peter 1:21-24), White represented being refined, righteous and heavenly (Isaiah 1:18).”Verse 18:“The four horns represent Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia who allscattered Jerusalem, and Judah.”Chapter 2“A measuring line is used to measure length, but here it is used as a point tomeasure the restoration of Israel.”

TheOlive tree is where the oil comes from and represents the priestly and royaloffices.”“Zerubbabel was a descendant of David holding to the tradition that David’sline would be established in Israel.”Chapter 5:The scroll measurements are the measurements of the Holy Place in thetabernacle.“The woman in the basket represented the removal of Israel’s sin or rebellionagainst God. The basket represented the iniquity of the people throughoutthe land.”

Chapter 6:“Of the four colored horses, the dappled grey horses mean pestilence.”Chapter 8:“In this chapter God promised Jerusalem that they would be saved, and theywere encouraged to rebuild the land and temple.”Chapter 9“God declares judgment on Israel enemies, Hamath, Tyre, Sidon, Ashkleon,Ashdod, and Ekron.”Chapter 10:“God is angry at the leaders for refusing to take care of His flock and theflock He was speaking of was the people of Judah and God in turn takes careof them Himself and this is detailed in verses 6-12.”Chapter 11:Two shepherds or staff’s called :favor" and "union" is depicted. Favor isbroken to signify the revoking of the convent He had made with the nationsin verse 10-11.In verse 12-13, Zechariah prophesies the amount of money Judas wouldbetray Jesus for.”

Chapter 12:“Chapter 12 talks about future deliverance for Jerusalem and how God willprotect Jerusalem from surrounding nations.”Chapter 13:“Chapter 13 talks about the cleansing from sin where God will banish idols,the spirit of impurity and false prophets.”Verse 7-11 detail what will happen to Jesus when He coems to earthChapter 14:Tells the coming of Jehovah and talks about the battle of Armageddon.Armageddon in Hebrew is Megiddo, a hill which overlooks the Jezreel valleywhere satan and the antichrist will battle.”The Book Of Ezekiel:“Ezekiel means "strength of God" and the book of Ezekiel is divided into threeparts: the first part is the message of doom in chapter 1 thru 24, messagesagainst foreign nations in chapters 25 thru 32, and messages of hope inchapter 33 thru 48.”Ezekiel 2:4-7

Daniel was also known as Belteshazzar.”“The book of Daniel is divided into two parts, his life in chapter 1-6, and his visionsin chapters 7 thru 12.”Chapter 1:“Daniel didn’t eat the kings food and ate vegetables and drank water only and thisis known as a Daniel fast. He didn’t defile himself with the Babylonian food. He wasunblemished and if he had ate the Babylon food he would have been ineffective forGod.”
  7. 7. Chapter 2:“King Nebuchadnezzar has dreams and Daniel is the only person to interpretit and the dream is prophetic.”The head of the statue was gold andrepresented the Babylonian empire. The chest and arms were silverrepresented the Medo-Persian empire. The belly was bronze represented theGreek empire and the legs and feet represented the Roman empire.”Chapter 3:The fiery furnaceChapter 4:Nebuchadnezzar dreams about tree and the tree was him. He would be drivenaway for seven years because he didn’t acknowledge God as the only God.”Chapter 5:The writing on the wallMene – God has numbered the days of your reign and has brought it to anend.Tekel – you have weighed on the scales and found wanting.Psalm 62:19Parsin – your kingdom is divided and given to the Persians.That night, Belshazzar was killed and this word was fulfilled that night.

Daniel has a dream about four beasts and this can be compared to what wasshow to the apostle John in the book of revelation.”Matthew 26:6-4Luke 21:27John 1:51Chapter 12:Verse 1&2 can be referenced to Revelation 16:18.“All the things Daniel saw he couldn’t speak on because Daniel had to wait forJesus to come fulfill His part first.The Book of Jeremiah:“The word of the lord came to Jeremiah during the reign of three kings,Zedekiah, Jehoiakim, and Josiah.”“In chapter 1 we see that prophets are called before they are born and we seethat God trains Jeremiah to be able to see and hear clearly.”“Jeremiah means "Yahweh throws" and his parables are communicatedthrough object lessons and sermons.”“Jeremiah’s ministry expanded more than 40 years and he was a heartbrokenprophet with a heartbreaking message and he was a contemporary ofHabakkuk, Daniel, Ezekiel, and Zephaniah.”
