HoustonSocialJobs.com Startup Pitch Deck

A Houston-based company has finally come up with a way to connect Houston's job seekers with employers on one website.

HoustonSocialJobs.com operates like a standard job board but is tailored to creative and digital jobs, and is focused only on Houston area companies and candidates. The website lists positions ranging from Social Media Managers to Desktop Support Technicians.

Houston Social Jobs founder, Christine Clauder, says the website was created after she grew frustrated with the standard job boards available, and decided to merge her love of Houston with her love of "all things digital."

"There was just a need for a local job board where both employers and candidates can come together on one unified site," Clauder said.

Co-founder Joseph Clauder said, "When I first saw Christine's plan for the site, I immediately said that she is going to solve Houston's traffic problem one job at a time."

"Whenever I'm job searching, I always have another tab open with Google Maps in it to calculate the commute [so this is] good stuff," said one user.

Other users praised the "Padmapper style" of the website. Padmapper.com lists out apartment rentals based on a user's preferred location.

HoustonSocialJobs.com features large map on the homepage where candidates can narrow down their job search based on location or proximity. Employers can post jobs, which appear as pins on the featured map, while candidates can post their resumes in hopes to attract the attention of an employer.

A new benefit of the website includes an online video stage, where employers and candidates can meet privately online prior to scheduling an on-site interview.

HoustonSocialJobs.com also culls Houston job listings from Indeed.com and CareerBuilder.com for a more robust experience for candidates.

The tagline of HoustonSocialJobs.com is "Connecting creatives who are job-searching in Houston with employers who are seeking brilliant minds."

Founded in 2015, HoustonSocialJobs.com is running a beta program to allow companies to post their job listings into the site at no cost, in exchange for user feedback. Interested companies can email info@houstonsocialjobs.com for information on the beta program.

Founders Christine and Joseph Clauder state that future plans for the website include integrated Google Maps driving directions, featured job listings, contracts with local recruiters and companies, and a mobile app.
