Sandeep kumar Poonia was born on 1st May 1986 in
Mehendergarh, Haryana. He is a son of Zile Singh. He is
a resident in Sultanpur area in Delhi. He completed his
12th standard in 2001 and Bachelor of Arts (BA) from
Dyal Singh college, University of Delhi in 2004.

Sandeep kumar was born in a farmer’s house, having no
background in sports. His admission into the Jat Regiment
Centre tempted him to take up racewalking professionally
Sandeep kumar is an indian racewalker. He has become one
of the top Indian athletes in track and field event.
He completed 50 kilometres walk event at the 2015 world
championships in athletics.
He has also participated in the 2016 Rio Olympics where he
finished in 35th at the 50 km race walk.
