A2 media evalution. question 3

  1. 1. This video was aimed at 12-15 year old teenage girls. We wanted to portray a POP genretowards our target audience. Who enjoy listening to upbeat music and at the same time a bitmature. We had chosen this target audience as our artist seems very feminine friendly. The audience feedback that we had received was very helpful. It enabled us to connect withour target audience and understand them. It allowed us to try and improve our work and makeit to the best of our abilities.I enjoyed making the video as it allowed me to connect with my creative side. I allowed me tocreate images in my head and make them come before me.The positive feedback that we received had enhanced our confidence and allowed us tothink that we had done a good job. However the negative feedback did not go down as well.We had received quite a few back comments but we had taken them in as a way to improveour work and if we were to do this again we would not repeat those mistakes. We got our feedback from different sources such as getting a focus group together and askingthem questions. The comments of our music video on YouTube.
  2. 2. I had gathered some people from our target audience and placed them in a room for a few minutes. I had asked them to watch the video and answer a few questions which I had placed in front of them in the form of a questionnaire.I had then placed the results of those questions in charts. In the focus group there was 10 participants. I had only asked them five questions. 1. Did you like the music video? Some participants had said that the video was good enough that they Yes would be glad to watch it again No whist others wouldnt even take It was okay a second look.
  3. 3. When asked this question 2.Did the video hold your the faces on the participants seemed a attention? little confused and it seemed to take them long to answer. However vast majority said that it Yes had interested them as there was two parts to it No not just a whole performance piece or a whole narrative. When I received the answers forthis question I was shocked. 3.Do you think the video fitsHowever we had stated in thequestionnaire that they must the POP genre?state, why? Here are someanswers I received: “ What is the POP genre?” Yes“ It does not make sense tome, shouldn’t POP be like Miley NoCyrus?”“ I think it Does kind of but I Dont Knowdon’t understand the song. Thevideo is good and kept mehooked on but like I said thesong.”
  4. 4. 4.Does the music The participants that had said yes had given these as reasons: video make you want  “ I think if this songs is good then the others must be as to buy the song? good”  “ I love the artist” Whilst the ones that said No was not because of the video they Yes indeed stated that they enjoyed the video but did not No like the sound of the artist. Some of them said:  “ who is this guy , he cant sing”  “the videos okay but the artist is wow and not in a good way”5. State any improvements that wecan have made or completechanges? “ you could have different locationsinstead of just to” “didn’t understand the song so if youcould maybe do something about that” “none I liked it even the artist ““ maybe pick a better artist next time”“ I don’t know what you could change butI think you should improve the camera work”
  5. 5. This is the feedback that wehad received from YouTube. As it is shown we had mixedreviews . Some thought that itwas a good video whilst otherthought that the video did notdo the artist justice. We had taken this feedbackand criticism quite well withan open mind, which allowedus to look at it from someoneelses perspective.
