  1. 1.  Social Media is a vital part of any brands strategy in this day and age as there are many profiles which are growing in popularity everyday. Brands should be aware of these profiles, which to use and how to maintain them. However brands should not just use profiles for the sake of being on them. Any brand can have a Facebook page from a retail store to a bank offering invoice factoring.
  2. 2.  It is important to keep your profile up-to- date to ensure users want to return to the page Write out a monthly planner of updates across the profiles Also react to topical news related to your brand which will interest your followers
  3. 3.  Consider how you will deal with customer service queries Have a list of FAQ answers prepared Think about employing a dedicated social profile manager or external agency to manage your profiles
  4. 4.  Have your competitors got social media channels? If so what do they do well/ poorly? Find a way of standing out from your competitors What can you do better than your competitors?
  5. 5.  Why not use social media to promote a discount code? Discount codes will encourage more users to ‘like’ or ‘follow’ you as well as using your website and buying your products. Additionally these users are likely to share this with friends and so it goes on.
