College pre production.pptx

  1. 1. Pre-Production- Client and Audience Firstly, before we could do any recordings or planning, me and my team had to sit down and discuss the clients necessities and what they would want out of our promotional campaign as for our project we had to promote Sunderland College. The client is Sunderland College and we wanted to work with them since they are one of if not the biggest and most popular colleges in the North East. We also had to look into our audience and figure out what we need to appeal to. We made sure to write this down in a power point so we knew exactly what we were doing.
  2. 2. Pre-Production- Audience Profile As you can see by the previous slide, me and my team wrote down everything we were doing and why we were doing it. This also shows the age range we were targeting as 15-19 year old (as stated in the power point) are most likely to come to Sunderland College as they tend to be fairly unskilled as there social grade tends to be in group E, possibly D depending if the person had a part time job before/during staying at Sunderland College. We also determined the psycho graphics to determine how we want to present the advert as we came to the conclusion that we wanted to do a TV advert as they are usually more appealing than other methods of promotion. The psycho graphics we focused on were aspirers as they are very typically young people most of the time, main streamers as they are the majority and young people will definitely fit into the category of seeking security, and explorers as young people tend to be the most energised.
  3. 3. Pre-Production- Ideas/planning After we figured out what we were aiming for, we then started to plan out our ideas through storyboards and visualising through prototype photos. Whilst we were getting these photos which you can seen here: We were also starting to map out what shots we were going to take, in what order they would be edited, and where we would go for them. This is to make sure we were highly organised and know exactly what we were going to do. We believe this order and idea will work the best as it keeps the audience energised and wanting to watch and enticing to come to Sunderland College as that is our main goal. I believe the audience wants a fast paced and comedic advert as that keeps there interest the best.
  4. 4. Pre-Production- Audience Feedback
  5. 5. Pre-Production- Audience Feedback As evident through the previous slide, you can see that there was a lot of positive feedback linked to the organisation of the work, however there was a few minor issues we had to resolve linking to the background music and making sure the outro was less time than stated in the original project planning. I made sure to add background music options to the pre-production so I knew what type of tone of music I wanted. I also added that the outro should be 3-5 seconds rather than 5-10 seconds to make it less drawn out at the end.
