History of World cup<br />The Cricket World Cup was first held in 1975 in England in which 8 teams took part Australia, England, West Indies, Pakistan, India, and New-zealand , Srilanka& East africa.<br />The next two World Cups held in 1979 and 1983 were again hosted by England.<br />India had won the 1983 world cup .<br />The 1987 Cricket World Cup was held in India and Pakistan , 1991 Cricket World Cup was held by Australia and New Zealand <br />South Africa, Zimbabwe and Kenya hosted the 2003 Cricket World Cup, In 2007, the tournament was hosted by the West Indies.<br />The world cup 2011 was held in India, Bangladesh & Srilanka.<br />

World cup 2011 schedule<br />In world cup 2011, 49 matches played by 14 teams.<br />Every team played 6 matches in their league round.<br />In quarter finals, 8 teams reached .<br />In semifinals- India, New-zealand , Srilanka, Pakistan teams reached.<br />India beat Pak in semifinal & Sri-lanka beat New-zealand.<br />In the final , India won the world cup by beating Lanka <br />
  4. 4. India v/s Bangladesh<br />This is the first match played b/w both teams in Dhaka.<br />India had scored 370 runs .<br />India had won this match by 87 runs. <br />VirenderSehwag scored 175 & he was the man of the match.<br />
  5. 5. Pakistan V/s Kenya<br />Pakistan had played his first match with Kenya.<br />Pakistan had scored a huge score of 300+<br />Pakistan had won this match by 205 runs.<br />Afridi was man of the match in this match.<br />

  7. 7. India V/s Australia<br />In quarterfinal, India played with Australia which is four times world champion.<br />Australia scored 260 runs .<br />India won this match by 5 wickets.<br />The hero of this match was Yuvraj Singh.<br />

India V/s Pakistan<br />In semifinal, India faced Pak in Mohali at PCA stadium<br />There were pressure on both teams.<br />Both teams played a superb match & at the beginning both nation’s PMs met with players & encouraged them.<br />India scored 260 runs & Sachin made 86 runs.<br />But Pak could not make 261 runs & they were all-out.<br />India won this match 38 runs & qualified for final.<br />Sachin was the hero of the match.<br />
  9. 9. Other Intresting Matches<br />The match played b/w India & England was tie. Both team scored 360 runs.<br />The match b/w England & Ireland won by Ireland by 2 wickets. Kevin’ O Brien made fastest century in 50 balls.<br />The other match played b/w India & SA won by SA by 2 wickets in the last over. It was a fantabulous match.<br />

India V/s Srilanka<br />It was the final match played in Mumbai .<br />This was the third time when India had reached in World cup Final.<br />Srilanka batted really well & made 274 runs.<br />At the beginning of India’ batting , everyone was shocked when Sehwag was out on 2nd ball of Malinga.<br />But the innings of Gambir , Kohli & Dhoni helped team to took this world cup in India.<br />The hero of this match was Dhoni who made superb 91 runs.<br />

  12. 12. Emotional time<br />Man of the series Yuvi cried after winning the cup.<br />He said that India has completed the dream of Sachin as well as whole country after 28 years.<br />Sachin , Virat, Bhajji was also emotional after this .but they said this was our dream.<br />

Top Batsmen & Bowlers in this Tournament <br />Top Batsmen : TilalratneDilshan (500) , SachinTendulkar(482), Sangakara(465), Trott(422),Sehwag( 380)Yuvraj (362) & many more.<br />Top Bowlers : Zaheer Khan(21), Afridi(21),Southee(18),Robin Peterson(15), YuvrajSingh(15), Roach(13)etc.<br />Yuvraj was chose n as man of the match four times.<br />Yuvraj was chosen as the man of the series in this world cup.<br />
