Steps to install Lampp server on Linux Check whether LAMP already installed in your system. Goto places > Computer > File system > opt if Lampp server already installed, Lammp folder exists in opt folder. Uninstall by using terminal type the following command sudo rm -rf /opt/lampp Lampp Installation. Download the xampp installation software and save it in Downloads folder. Goto Application > accessories > Terminal. Type cd Downloads The dowloaded file found in downloads folder To Copy xampp file to opt folder use the following command sudo cp filename /opt To extract Xampp file inside opt use sudo tar -xvzf or xfz file name To start lammp server use sudo /opt/lampp/lampp start To stop lammp server use sudo /opt/lampp/lampp start Testing installation Type http://localhost in web browser Now it works.
  2. 2. To start Xampp autostart at login To make Xampp automatically start when we boot computer. you can add script to make it auto-start and shutdown. With your prefered editor, edit in my case. Sudo gedit /etc/rc.local now rc local file will be open in a new window. In that file paste the code in end of rc.local file /opt/lampp/lampp start. Above the code exit (0). Start and Stop parameters: Start Start Xampp Stop Stop Xampp Restart Stops and start Xampp Start Apache Satarts only apache Startmysql start only sql Stopapache Stops apache Stopmysql Stops Mysql
