  • The SAMR model is a roadmap which takes you from enhancing the learning to transforming the learning through ICT. There are four progressive paths being S – Substitution, A – Augmentiation, M – Modification and R for Redefintion.I think this model is crucial in today’s school environment, particularly with BYOD increasing in schools.
  • At the start of the roadmap there aretwo pathways to enhancement of learning.The most basic one is Substitution This is where technology is used like a pencil and paper, it is a direct tool substitute for example publishing a story in Word.
  • It’s not all about the technology, remember that quality learning is a bit like a black forest gateau with layers…
  • I like how the SMAR model enables common language so teachers can draw out what they do and why.Children/Teachers need to be exposed to the right tools to be able to move from enhancing to transformation
