OFFICIAL Why use a new form of contract? •one of our key responsibilities is: – opening up defence and security challenges to the widest possible audience of providers, including those new to defence and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) • recommendation from the Defence Science Advisory Council Review of Dstl Engagement with SMEs: – simplify substantially the contract document and terms, so as to make them easily understandable and appropriate for acquisition of S&T.
