1. 1. Should the speed limits be raised ? By: Kelly & Emily
 2. 2.

In the city, you should travel at no more than 50 km/h unless the limit is posted higher.

On the highway, it's 100 unless otherwise posted.

30 km/h limit for back lanes, and parking lots. School zones also fall into that category

What is the law in Manitoba ?
 3. 3.

Yes, the speed laws are similar from province to province. In all cities and towns the speed limit is 50km. They vary about 10km on highways. Speed limits are generally dependent on the types of highways whether it is 2 lanes or 4 lanes.

Do other provinces have similar laws or different ?
 4. 4.

Highway 110 km

What is the law in Saskatchewan?
 5. 5.

100km

Rocky National Parks 90km

Rural & country roads 80km

What is the law in Alberta ?
 6. 6.

50km in cities

90km to100km outside of cities

110km maximum multilane highway (4 lanes)

What is the law in B.C?
 7. 7.

Cities 50km

2 lanes highway 80km

4 lanes (freeways) 100km

What is the law in Onartio?
 8. 8. To increase or NOT to increase that is the Question ....
 9. 9.

Will save Manitobans time

Boost provinces economy – help speed the movement of goods and people

Put Manitoba in line with Saskatchewan and Alberta

To increase !
 10. 10.

Going to increase death

Manitoba Truckers Association – will increase severity of accidents

Bad idea environment standpoint – travelling faster means burning more fuel

To leave as is !
 11. 11.

We say the speed limits should be the same because we already have enough accidents as it is, we don’t need anymore. It also will affect people’s reaction time and stopping distance time. We are also putting too much fuel into our environment already. We are trying to save our earth by not polluting so much. The new speed limits are going to cause more accidents than normal and some people may lose control of the vehicle and cause an accident. People will start to think it’s okay to speed and will hope they will raise the speed limits again. It will be more dangerous on the highways and some kind of accidents are bound to happen. Why speed when you could get to the place you want within a safe speed knowing you are going to make it there on time and in fine condition. And if we keep the speed limit the same we are most likely to have less accidents.

Our opinion ..
