In this class, Hayley Ninnis learned both basic and advanced techniques of this particular form of yoga. As a practice form, power vinyasa yoga combines the serenity of breath- based yoga with the intensity power yoga. Classes take place in heated studios to maximize the benefits of the workout, which include improved cardiovascular endurance and blood circulation as well as a lower blood pressure and resting pulse rate. As participants challenge themselves physically, they also connect movement with breath in the tradition of vinyasa yoga. Poses flow from one to the other in a way that minimizes resistance and emphasizes continuity. This encourages a sense of calm, even in moments of physical challenge. Power vinyasa yoga also offers a challenge in its adaptability. As the form remains relatively consistent from one class to the next, variations in duration, pace, and frequency of repetition ensure a balanced experience, both physically and mentally.
