About The Author (John Steinbeck)  He was born February 27 1902,and died in December 20 1968.  Steinbeck had written twenty-seven books (sixteen novels, six non-fiction books, and five short stories collections)  Won the Nobel Prize in 1962 for his “realistic and imaginative writing” and for his literature.  First novel published in 1929, called “Cup of cold”, based on life and death of privateer of Henry Morgan

Plot Summary-The Pearl           Kino and Juana have a lovely life, even though they are poor Scorpion crawls and hangs from Coyotto’s Crib Scorpion stings Coyotto Juana sucks the poison out, Kino stomps the scorpion to death Juana and Kino go to the doctor Doctor refuses to help Kino injures his hand, striking the door Kino and Juana are on a boat Juana mends to Coyotto’s wounds Kino dives and find the “Pearl Of The World”
