  2. 2. Verse 1 You lift my heart up When the rest of me is down You, you enchant me, even when you're not around If there are boundaries, I will try to knock them down I'm latching on babe Now I know what I have found - When the narrator feels down, depressed, bored and alone, his crush lifts his heart, giving him courage, happiness and love towards this person. - The relationship is worth fighting for so they narrator is willing to deal with the dilemmas. - The right person for them has been found so they are staying put.
  3. 3. Bridge I feel we're close enough I wanna lock in your love I think we're close enough Could I lock in your love, baby Continuing the latch analogy, the narrator wants to lock these feelings into a relationship. The notions of “lock” and “latch” also fit many of the intimate actions couples do: hugging, holding hands etc.
  4. 4. Chorus Now I got you in my space I won't let go of you Got you shackled in my embrace I'm latching on to you - Now that they have got their crush right where they want, they’re going to seize the opportunity. - His/her embrace to this person is similar to being chained up or shackled, giving us an odd metaphor to their imminently boundful connection.
  5. 5. Verse 2 I'm so encaptured, got me wrapped up in your touch Feel so enamored, hold me tight within your clutch How do you do it, you got me losing every breath What did you give me to make my heart beat out my chest? - Enamored comes from the French words “en amour” meaning literally “in love.” Portraying how strong the feelings are. - Here’s an example of Disclosure working the same effect on a concert crowd with “Latch”. Making them lose their breath and their hearts beating out of their chests.
