  7. 7. Lets have a look at an example:<br />We know that <br />Tan θ = O/A<br />Take a right angled triangle:<br />So...<br />θ<br />...if we know two out of O, A or θ... <br />A<br />...then we can always find the third piece of Information.<br />O<br />
  8. 8. What length is the opposite side going to be?<br />Try this...<br />Start with: Tan 40˚ = O/7<br />40˚<br />Rearrange so: 7×Tan 40˚ = O<br />7<br /> Use your calculator to get O = 5.874 (3 d.p)<br />Easy!<br />Opposite<br />
