- There are 56 ethnic groups identified
and confirmed by the Central
Government.
- About 90% of China's total population
belong to the Han ethnic group, and
around 10 percent belong to minority
ethnic groups.
- Many ethnic groups live in poor,
mountainous areas and in border
regions.
- China has vowed to promote the
Common Development of All Ethnic
Groups and to protect their cultural
heritage

- Around 700.000 She people still live in
the mountainous areas in and around
Zhejiang Province.
- They refer to themselves 'Shanha'
where Shan means mountain and Ha
means customers, 'customers of the
mountain'.

applicable, individuals should have
the primary role in safeguarding their
own intangible cultural heritage.

recognized and respected.

02. Project Overview
Let folklore be seen
the sound of artifacts be heard
Let folklore be seen and
the sound of artifacts be heard
- Since 2015, the team "Traveling of Eyes" of Zhejiang International
Studies University has been traveling from Hangzhou to Shaanxi
Province, Jingning and Xiaoshan (Zhejiang Province).
- The team´s motto is "Let folklore be seen and the sound of artifacts
be heard”.
- Through paintings, videos, exhibitions, and product development,
the project is preserving intangible cultural heritage and promoting
traditional rural art in our fast-paced modern society.
In the past eight years, the project has:
- covered more than 20 towns across two
provices
- created more than 200 paintings, 28
short documentaries and videos
- carried out 12 exhibitions and 20 live
streams of artifact painting.
- The project has been reported by China
Central Television (CCTV), National
Geographic Magazine and many other
media and TV stations for many times.

Tourism and group
- 4. Marketing and promotion group
