  2. 2. Be Able Team shared their experience, facilities, information and educate the People With Disabilities (PWD) Be Able Team consist of educator, engineer, science officer, assistant engineer, rehab expert, prosthetist orthotist and institution student BE ABLE TEAM
  3. 3. Congenital – Born with the Disabilities Trauma – Involved with accidents/ injury/ diabetes THE PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
  4. 4. OBJECTIVE 1: EDUCATION & REHABILITATION Provide the education for sustainability development of People with Disabilities : Pre-Post Prosthetic Procedure, Biomechanics of Proper Walking, New Assistive Technologies, Option/Market Available, Sustainability Self Rehabilitation

OBJECTIVE 2: SOCIAL & REHABILITATION Provide the social sharing session, forum, discussion for sustainability development of People with Disabilities : Pre-post procedure as amputee, process protocol, government policy, funding, opportunity, feedback to design proper assistive devices, parking, facilities, confident in talking and do things

OBJECTIVE 3: SPORTS & REHABILITATION The sport activities to empowering the sustainability development of People with Disabilities : Wheelchair Basketball, Sitting Volleyball, Football for OKU (PWD), build confident for PWD, involve with Para Sport Unit for representative Malaysia at Para Sport Games
  7. 7. CASE STUDY 1: MR. HAIRUMAN (TRILATERAL AMPUTATION) Age: 29 Working as IT operator for fast food company Cause of Amputation: High Voltage Electric (2010) Loss: Both of his hand, 1 leg, 1 more leg foot drop, body 85% burn Other difficulties: from rural area, took him nearly 6 month transfer from 1 hospital to another before got amputed Be Able had transformed Hairuman become more confident person, he able to share his experience with other PWD (before and after got amputed, the policy, process and protocol), using Be Able prosthetic leg, hairuman enjoyed helping Be Able team to motivate others including origin of Malay people in rural area (Orang Asli)
  8. 8. CASE STUDY 2: MS. SURAYA (HALF BODY STROKE) Age: 27 Working as Teacher Cause of Amputation: Stroke, suddenly collapse (2010) Loss: Half of body don’t have feedback system, can be move but don’t feel the touch Other difficulties: from rural area, took her nearly 2 month transfer from 1 hospital to another, 2 years to stand on her feet again with her own initiative of rehab Be Able visit Suraya in 2018, after got a call from PLPP (her previous institute when got difficulties in movement). Be Able team guide Suraya to have a proper way to do the physiotherapy and rehabilitation by herself, so she can self sustain do the rehabilitation. Nowadays, Suraya still keep doing the self-rehabilitation and hoping that one day she might get back her “touch” feeling again.
  9. 9. CASE STUDY 3: MS. MAZWIN (CONGENITAL AMPUTATION) Age: 29 Working as customer service for fast food company Cause of Amputation: Congenital since born Loss: Hand (Transradial Part), Leg (Ankle Part) Other difficulties: from rural area (not mainland Malaysia, she got her first prosthetic foot when she was 20 years old Be Able visit Mazwin in 2018, after got a call from PLPP (her previous institute). Be Able team help to build her the new prosthetic foot and advice her with a proper biomechanics gait using the prosthetics, do and don’t, keep sustain to self rehab. Nowadays, Mazwin able to have a proper walking pattern and will look for more opportunity/funding for her prosthetic hand.
  10. 10. CASE STUDY 4: MR. NAZMI (BELOW KNEE AMPUTATION) Age: 26 Working as IT operator call for fast food company Cause of Amputation: Motocycle accident (2015) Loss: Leg (Trantibial) Other difficulties: Funding Source Be Able educate and provide Nazmi with a new look of prosthetic leg. Be Able team help to build his confident and empowering him for sport and social activities. With Be Able prosthetic leg, Nazmi just return from Ankara Mountain, Turkey where he complete the hiking using the prosthetic leg.
