2. Introduction
As you know the new version of Microsoft office (2016) was
officially released a few days ago. Similar to the previous
versions, this version includes new features and enhancements.
Excel is a software of Office which has been included a number
of updates in latest versions. Here are some of the top new and
improved features for Excel 2016
3. New Charts
Six new charts have been added to Excel 2016:
1. Waterfall
2. Histogram
3. Pareto
4. Box and Whisker
5. Tree map
6. Sunburst
10. Advanced functionality called
Query
Power Query is one of the Excel add-ins which is provided as a
built-in functionality. By power Query users can get access to
different data sources and acquire data from databases such as
MySQL.
11. Forecast Function
Unlike the previous versions of Excel which only included linear
forecasting, in Excel 2016, the forecast function has been added
to allow exponential forecasting, etc. this feature is also available
as One-click forecasting button to visualize forecasting of your
data. You can also adjust forecast parameters such as
seasonality, confidence interval, etc.

Previous versions of Excel
included a geospatial
visualization tool called
Power Map add-in. now
this add-in has been
renamed to 3D Maps and
is built into Excel 2016
and is available to all
users.
13. Pivot Table Enhancement
Pivot table is one of the most
useful tools in Excel which has
also been enhanced and
updated in the latest version.

slicer
Slicer is a useful tool in Excel by
which you can arrange the data.
In previous versions of Excel only
one item could be selected by
slicer. Now in Excel 2016 you can
use Multi-select mode to select
more than one item at once.
15. Quickly search features with Tell me
In Excel 2016, there is a text box
on the ribbon named as tell me
what you want to do. You can type
words and phrases related to
what you want to do and quickly
find the features you want to use
without the need to open
different menus.
16. For example, by typing the
word waterfall all the features
related to creating a waterfall
chart will be shown.
17. Smart Look up
In Excel 2016, you can
select a word or phrase,
right-click it and choose
Smart look up to get
different information from
the internet.
18. You can use touch stylus or the
mouse to write your own
equations by hand and Excel will
convert it to text.

19. Share Easily
As you see in the figure
below, there is a button on
ribbon to share your
information with others.
20. Version History
If you store the files on OneDrive
for business or Share point, you
can see the changes have been
made to your files and open the
earlier versions using History in
Excel 2016.

In Excel 2016, there are three new themes that you can apply: White,
colorful, Dark gray
22. Publish data with Power BI
In Microsoft office 2016, a new option has been added in Excel backstage
called Power BI by which you can easily share and publish your data with
others.
