HOW CLEANLINESS EFFECTS OUR LIVES? • Health: A study published in the American Journal of Infection Control found that hand hygiene programs in hospitals reduced the incidence of healthcare-associated infections by up to 50%. • Mental health: Studies have shown that a messy living space can lead to feelings of stress and anxiety, while a clean and organized space can promote feelings of calmness and relaxation. • Social perception: Research published in the International Journal of Hospitality Management found that hotel guests rated their experience higher when the hotel was clean and well-maintained. • Productivity: Research published in the Journal of Occupational Health Psychology found that workers in clean environments were more productive and had higher job satisfaction than those in cluttered or messy workspaces.

CULTURAL IMPORTANCE OF CLEANLINESS • In Pakistani society cleanliness is seen as a way to maintain purity and avoid disease. • It is also associated with social status and respectability. • The government of Pakistan has also recognized the importance of cleanliness and hygiene, and the "Clean and Green Pakistan" campaign was launched in 2018 to promote cleanliness and environmental sustainability across the country.
