  4. 4. OR Let’s start with “Secondary Sources” which have law review articles.
  5. 5. We want New York law reviews.
  6. 6. Law review articles are just that – reviews of the law. Some are very lengthy and are often written by practicing attorneys, law professors, or law students. As Professor Cosgrove-Militano said, if you find a helpful one, and can understand it, great! If not, try newspapers.
  7. 7. Be aware of the word length when using newspapers. Some are very short. Generally an article less than 500 words has very little information.
  8. 8. Newspapers contain “Letters to the Editor,” which can help you formulate your opinion on felony murder. Note the date of the article – 30 years. Check with Professor Cosgrove-Militano for approval of older (generally more than 5 years). In class she said there are no date requirements, but better safe than sorry with material this dated.
  9. 9. When in doubt go back to the felony murder statute and read it. NY Penal Law 125.25(3)
