  1. 1. Emamectin Benzoate 5% SG • Emamectin Benzoate was discovered in 1984 • Features ∆ is semi synthetic ∆ Non systemic ∆ New generation ∆ Naturally derived avermectin insecticides. ∆ Emamectin is used at very low dose.
  2. 2. ∆ Emamectin targets lepidopteran as well as leaf miner in vegetables & fruits, Gram, Soybean, Tur & Cotton. ∆ Emamectin is more active against those insects which are resistant to other chemical groups (Organo phosphates, Carbamates). ∆ Emamectin works much faster after ingestion by the insect.
  3. 3. BENEFITS Ō Emamectin has novel mode of action hence no case of resistance. Ō Emamectin is not harmful to beneficial insects hence fit in IPM module. Ō Due to translaminar activity Emamectin has the quality of rain fastness. Ō Highly effective and environment protecting biocide. Ō Lepidoptera specialist but selective to Beneficials Ō Due to its little amount of usage and being easy to degrade, does not pollute the environment and has no residue.

  8. 8. INGESTION CHLORIDE FLOW MUSCLE PARALYSIS FEEDING STOPS DEATH Mode of Action Emamectin protects plants from feeding damage in 2 hours of application Damage stops in just 2 Hrs after ingestion Death occurs in 72 Hrs for smaller instars. Takes more time upto 6 – 7 days for larger instars
  9. 9. Application ☼ Dosage: 200-250g/ha or 80-100 g/acre ☼ Apply XPERT at the first sign of damage and repeat at an interval of 10 -12 days. ☼ If necessary counter / scout the field at random weekly in 10 plants and recommend spray of XPERT if the count exceeds 4 larvae of any caterpillar species or 7-8 DBM.
