3. I could see the broken soul,
The tears in her eyes,
The fear in her heart,
She wanted to trust,
She wanted to believe,
She wanted to live,
But she had trusted earlier,
and paid heavily for the trust she had
laid in people she loved,
She deserved to live and really live,
Not die everyday,
She had dared trust and paid heavily.
4. She held her moms hand and asked her,
Where did I go wrong?
Did I do something wrong?
Mom promptly put a finger on her
daughter’s lips,
And said SHHHHHHHHHHHH…
Don’t say anything to anyone,
People don’t want to hear you,
You will become a part of newspaper
clippings only,
You need to live.
5. If you tell people what happened,
They will make you feel ashamed,
They will call you a brave heart,
And they will fight their abuse
through you,
They will kill you with words,
looks and fear.
6. LIVE, MY CHILD,
BUT BE SILENT TODAY, TOMORROW
and FOREVER,
That’s the only way to live,
That’s is the only way to live.
I have also lived in hiding,
I also went through what you went
through in silence,
For people are still not ready to deal
with broken souls.
7. I wanted to be understood,
not ridiculed,
I wanted to be loved,
not called a brave heart,
I wanted to belong, not be condoned,
Today I give you my silence to protect you,
In silence we understand each other perfectly,
Our souls belong to the souls of the children of
silence.

13. ABUSE HAS BECOME
PART OF OUR SYSTEM
•In the name of
discipline
•In the name of love
•In the name of trust
14. Discipline
Power assertion:
“Spare the rod and spoil the Child.”
Love withdrawal: threatening to
with - hold love
Verbal abuse: calling names -
“I WISH YOU HAD NEVER BEEN
BORN.”
16. Sexual abuse-
Some one you trust
The abuser may be a:
father
stepfather

of the mother
mother or
the baby sitter
17. WHY ABUSE CONTINUES
• Fear of rejection
• Fear of isolation
• Fear of shame
• Fear of what will people say
• Fear of a tarnished image
• Fear of being alone
18. THINKING POINTS
“Is it a coincidence that less than 100
years ago girls married at the age of 12
years and today girls less then 12 years
are getting abducted, raped and sold
for flesh trade?
Have things really changed?”

19. I was only six years
old at that time.
Childhood should
be carefree,
playing in the sun,
not living a
nightmare in the
darkness of
the soul.”
Abuse only ended
when I was 11 years
old
20. My abuser was old enough to be my
grandfather. He was my fathers uncle.
25. Life became a
question mark
Why did my mother not choose to see anything?
Am I not important?
Its happening in front of them, do they approve of it?
Should I tell them anything?
Am I a bad girl?
Did I do something wrong?
26. Don’t tell your husband.
He will throw you out
of the house.
31. Pattern repeated again in
the next generation and in
older generation before
These are incomplete
stories that nature tries to
complete by repeating the
pattern
32. “Abuse is a ‘huge silent killer’.
It is a precursor
to many health issues
e.g. bipolar disorder,
Parkinson's disease, polycystic ovaries,
obesity, thyroid, endometriosis,
pimples, infertility, skin issues,
and the list goes on.”

34. WHY - Why do you want the change?
HOW - How will you take responsibility?
WHAT - What will you do?
ACTION

Emotional Freedom Techniques

35. Awareness :
What is abuse?
Who can be abused?
How does an abuser look and
behave?
How does a victim behave?
How can we make her/him safe?
Who can she/he seek help from?
37. Victim has to know what responsibility to take:
Unanswered can create conflict
Why he/she got abused?
What was her/his fault?
What made him/her create this story
in their life?
Am I a bad child?
Do I deserve punishment?
Or was it past life karma?
41. “So many unheard screams,
in silence screams spoke louder than
words could ever speak.
Today together let us take a pledge to
speak up so that this never happens
again.
Break your silence;
and save the child in you.”
