has been silenced. Can you guess what advert it is?



On your whiteboard:



What are they promoting?



What is good/bad about the advert?

Listen to a range of radio adverts and complete the
worksheet.
Mini Plenary


You have one minute to reflect on the activity you have
just completed.



In pairs compare your findings and identify what you think
are the key features of a radio advert.



Be prepared to share your answers with the rest of the
classroom.
Activity Two


Use Microsoft word to create a checklist of all the key
features you should include in a radio advert.


e.g. State the company/product at least three times

Lesson one

  • 2. Learning Objectives  To identify key features of a radio advert  To analyse and evaluate radio adverts
  • 3. Success Criteria  All will be able to identify three components of a radio advert.  Most will be able to identify the target audience of a radio advert.  Some will be able to offer a range of improvements for radio adverts.
  • 4. Starter  Listen to the radio advert clips where the company name has been silenced. Can you guess what advert it is?  On your whiteboard:  Who are the company?  What are they promoting?  What is good/bad about the advert?
  • 5. Activity One  Navigate to the Lesson One webpage.  Open up the worksheet named ‘Radio Advert Evaluation Worksheet’, found under the subheading ‘Main Activity One’.  Listen to a range of radio adverts and complete the worksheet.
  • 6. Mini Plenary  You have one minute to reflect on the activity you have just completed.  In pairs compare your findings and identify what you think are the key features of a radio advert.  Be prepared to share your answers with the rest of the classroom.
  • 7. Activity Two  Use Microsoft word to create a checklist of all the key features you should include in a radio advert.  e.g. State the company/product at least three times
  • 8. Plenary  Listen to the radio advert. Target Audience= Primary School aged children  Am I correct? What do you think the correct target audience is? How do you know?
