3. Weekly HAR Market Stat For the week ending April 3, the number of purchase agreements signed continued to leapfrog with 2010 levels. That's a positive any way you look at it in light of last year's elevated market. This time, there were 1,401 Pending Sales creating a 7.9 percent jump over last year. Sellers, on the other hand, seem to have made up their mind to list fewer properties. New Listings were down 6.1 percent for the same time period to 2,317 homes. That marks the 11th consecutive week of year-over-year declines in listing activity. The spring and summer buying season looks promising. Seller patience and a long-term perspective will help as last year's purchase spike passes through the baseline comparison period. At this rate, expect no more than a couple weeks of declines followed by several months of strong year-over-year numbers stretching into summer and fall.
