Hi my name is Lars Johnson and I’m the technical trainer for Voith Turbo. In this slide cast I’m going show how to set up and participate in a Adobe Connect meeting. Here are the following topics that we will cover. The first thing you what to do is test your connection. Adobe has a automatic connection test that only takes a minutes, before you start this test, please be sure that you plug in any headsets, speakers or cameras that you maybe using for the meeting, the check if version of flash player is supported, speed Adobe Connect provides an online Connection Test for troubleshooting connection problems with your Adobe Connect Meeting. This utility tests the four key components for a successful meeting experience: Flash Player version Network connectivity to the Adobe Connect Server Available bandwidth Acrobat Connect Meeting Add-in version You can access this utility inside the meeting room by choosing Help > Troubleshooting. You can also access the test at the following URL: https://admin.acrobat.com/common/help/en/support/meeting_test.htm .
When signing into a meeting there are three options , Direct entry – with this option there no name or login and password options, once you click on the url you go right into the meeting. Enter as a guest – When entering as a guest just tye in your name and enter the room Enter with a login and password.- when using the option you should have recive a login and password for the meeting host. The meeting host will determine the method of entering ,but basically the if host needs to tack a participants attendance, tests or link an evaluation then entering with a login and password would be mandatory.
A typical meeting will have various rooms, for example meeting/class room this is control by the host. inside each room are pods, a room can hold many different types of pods, for example this room is an entry room, top cent it has a count down pod letting the participant know when the meeting will be starting they can also use the chat pod (below) to mingle with other participant ask the meeting host a question in private. The Class hand out is a file share pod lets the meeting host distribute files to the meeting particpants. Games can also be added as seen here, this is a rock paper seizers game
found in the upper right hand corner is a green button. click on this button and it will tell you the latency for your connection. this it take about 62 milliseconds of delay time. For example if you were to be using VOIP the would be a 62 milliseconds of delay. Typically anything with a latency of 180 will be noticeable.
