By design chosen to be Manual failover
Having external monitoring processes decide failover can
cause a lot of false positives.
External tool decides, if the tool has issues: even
bigger issues.
Split brain issues
Majority of production deployments are configured
with Manual Failover, which increases Uptime!
When automatic failover is needed:
use MySQL InnoDB Cluster instead of Semi-Sync
