Coaching tips: Make sure you drive home that HP has been leading this path with real investments in customer environments today. Paint the big picture of convergence, more than HW, but process, tools all the way to facilities. It is the mega-trend and the right architectural strategy to take maximum advantage of virtualization, cloud/as-a-service, and Green IT and other strategic customer initiatives.
Business Innovation is throttled down to 30%: The need to rapidly respond to business and customer needs in order to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty. They are expected to improve service levels and make IT more responsive to the needs of the business. Today we see a long delay to business value. In addition we see that business agility is constrained . Changes need to be made to address the fact that companies have too many applications, too much customization, and too much complexity. Finally , the need to better manage risk and enhance the quality of services to enable business success. To do this they need to ensure business continuity and protect their resource and data assets against a growing range of security threats. This will not only increase quality of service but also help companies meet corporate mandates and government regulations. To address these challenges, data centers need to make fundamental changes. They need to break down the silos, automate error prone manual processes and tighten management control. They need to bring together hardware, software and services to create next-generation data centers that operate more efficiently. The HP Networking piece is really a combination of two separate organizations: one that was part of HP, left alone on its side, which was the HP ProCurve division and as you probably saw in the news late last year HP announced the acquisition of 3Com and within 3Com they were really three different elements or three brands within this company and you see those logos demonstrated here. Now as we look at HP networking, this is really truly a combination of these two groups that have been integrated and organized into one cohesive group that is now known as HP Networking. There is definitely some good synergy and we will talk why it’s really just the perfect marriage between these two organizations. If you think back a year ago when we talk about HP ProCurve side of the business, this group had a very good portfolio but was not really a complete portfolio as customers would expect from the edge to the data center core. HP ProCurve customers were always very pleased and very happy customers and always wanted more, wanted more networking. So when we look at what 3Com brought to the mix when this marriage occurred you can see that from the data center to the core at the edge, all across the network including network management we now have a really solid complete portfolio whether looking at the data center or other elements of the network and we will take a look a bit more to this into this training.
