Evaluation framework
REMOURBAN Evaluation Approach
• Defined two levels: City and Project Level.
• Evaluation Approach: Indexes built based on indicators

City Level approach: Sustainability is a goal per se, Smartness is a
means for sustainability

• REMOURBAN Evaluation Framework is based on the definition of global
indexes as the calculation and aggregation of indicators grouped according
to categories and priority objectives.
• Calculation of the indexes (Su, Sm and Ds) to assess sustainability and
smartness of the cities and evaluate the impact of specific actions related to
energy, mobility, infrastructures or non-technical actions.
• Reference methodology for benchmarking and comparison, facilitating the
communication of information and assisting in the management process.
• Development of a tool to facilitate the application of the methodology and
keeping track of progress.
