• RheinEnergie organized an information event last November to inform the tenants about
all the measure included in WP2
• Another event is planned for the 1st quarter of 2017
• RheinEnergie is working closely with our partners. We are planning to use the housings
for the heat pumps and the batteries to give the tenants an insight into the technology.
The Dewog will design the area accordingly.
• We will provide a settlement monitor to visualize the energy flows within the district

– Electricity production (solar)
– Electricity consumption
– Heating demand
• The optimization has different goals:
– Minimize consumption of electricity from grid
– Minimize feeding electricity into the grid
– Minimize costs of grid consumption

• Every building has a local Energy Manager which is connected to the
Siedlungsmanagement via Internet over a secured connection
• The Energy Manager receives the result of the optimization as an incentive table and
converts it into a schedule for the connected devices:
– Heat pumps
– Batteries
– Heating cartridge
– District heating station
