10. 10. People are NOT different..

Could you accept that all people are the same underneath the visible externalities? – Concept of “sameness”.

Could we accept that people only SEE or HEAR things differently? – Concept of perspective.

Could we accept that it is only through being present to others that we are able to relate to them? – Concept of relatedness.

 11. 11. Us OR You

The “WE” word as opposed to the “You”.

Recognising the contribution of every individual as a part of the whole.

Respecting every individual as a source of wisdom and learning.

Accepting and celebrating differences of people – Make like voices in a choir that together sing more powerfully than any single person.

 12. 12. Fundamental View of the World

Human beings are all members of the human family.

The human family is a member of the “earth” family.

Inter-dependence.

Voluntary Engagement.

Empowered Equals.

 14. 14. A Leader?

One who dares to open the field of unlimited possibility, for all in the community served by her/him to rise up to, through a courageous stand for what is possible and the will to create that possibility in the face of great obstacles.

 15. 15. A family of equals

Primarily is about being. Who will you be today?

Understanding the triangle of acceptance, trust and respect (aka as Love).

Willing to let go of judgement to “see” the unvarnished truth.

Open to the richness of variety and uncertainty.

Willing to let go of the needs and demands of the Ego.

Willing to be a singer in a choir.

Connection – to Spirit, to Family, to Earth and to Beliefs.

 16. 16. Something to think about

"...Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.“

- A Return to Love, Marianne Williamson

(Nelson Mandela used this entire quotation in his speech)

 17. 17. Rusty Schweickart speaks of what he saw from Apollo 9..

There it was.. So small and so fragile and such a precious little spot in that universe that you can block it out with your thumb.. And you realise that on that small spot, that little blue and white thing, is everything that means anything to you – all of history and music and poetry and art and death and birth and love, tears, joy, games.. All of it on that little spot, that you can cover with your thumb..

 18. 18. Thank You

Questions?

Thank you for the honour and privilege of letting me be of service to you.

Please feel free to contact me, Sonny Navaratnam, on 02 8765 0551 or on teacher001@awakenwisdom.com at anytime.

With my prayers for a fulfilling and inspiring year ahead for you and your organisation.
