1. MY DREAM
My college days at NIT Durgapur have been an unforgettable one. Very few people can boast of
such an awesome experience. Also, since my childhood I loved watching cartoons. I always had
this idea of drawing and writing the script for a cartoon series. I feel that cartoons with their
visual and literary content appeals to the youth and the aged alike. After passing out of NIT
Durgapur, I always wanted to share my mellifluous memories with others, not only the ones
whom I know but also the ones who are completely unknown to me. My penchant for cartoons
combined with my craving to give a physical form to my college day memories. Thus the
concept of “4 OUNCES OF BUFFOONERY” was engendered. It is now my dream to get this
comic strip published and present my memories in front of the readers.
In this comic strip, the characters are that of my real life friends and all the incidents will be real
life incidents faced by us in our college days. Those 4 years were heaven for us. I have attached a
PDF containing the introduction to the characters of the comic strip. I intend to include our most
memorable experiences in NIT Durgapur, right from the ragging period, the nights passed in a
drunken stupor, the exam time pressure, the friendly bantering, the Adda sessions at Jhoops (the
unofficial food court of NIT DGP), our interactions with seniors and juniors, our notoriety and
such other stuffs. The cartoons are presently hand drawn. I am looking forward to publishing this
comic strip in Bengali and English. Presently I am unable to find a platform for approaching the
publishers. I sincerely hope that Godrej LOUD will provide me with this opportunity. I am also
planning to procuring software like Comic Book Pro or Comic Life for imaging and cartooning
provided Godrej LOUD gives me a chance to realize my dream. I also assure that my dreams can
be realized within 1 year and the stipulated budget of INR 1.5 lacs.
I feel that I have done my best to present my dream to Godrej LOUD and now I am anxiously
waiting for the day when my dreams will be realized.
